Jutlandia – “Full of Hope”

The hospital ship M/S Jutlandia left the quay at Langelinie on 23 January 1951, bound for Korea.

When confronted with the realities of war, the Danish crew of sailors, doctors, and nurses insisted on also treating civilian casualties on board. This decision helped set a new agenda for international humanitarian efforts. The mission still holds a significant place in Danish historical consciousness.

The drama documentary presents, for the first time, the many personal accounts from the mission.

Produced by Chroma Film in connection with the 60th anniversary of the ship’s final call as a hospital ship at Langelinie, 2013.
