Wood Graining Technique

The film demonstrates wood graining using glazing techniques, with a focus on mahogany graining and how to repair older grained surfaces. It is often more cost-effective to restore existing graining that has become worn over time than to repaint the entire surface with an opaque coating.

The film does not cover all forms of graining or wood imitation. The technique can be carried out using many different products; the method shown uses beer stain. As an additional finish, a water-based lacquer may be applied, as it protects the graining, among other things, from yellowing.
